This past winter, my ear had some built up wax tampering with my hearing and I put something in my ear that led to an infection. Now, I feel that my ear is more sensitive to ear aches, and often when I sleep under the ceiling fan, I will protect my ear from wind. Otherwise, I end up with a clogged ear that hurts a little in the morning.
Last week, my ear began to really bother me. It seemed a bit clogged and there was a stabbing pain. I ignored it for a day or so, then the pain started to get a tad worse, my gland was swollen and it hurt to touch the gland. Ears are too sensitive to put essential oils directly in, even in a carrier oil. I asked my friend Lauren from AroMed if she had any suggestions for me. She said to rub eucalyptus oil behind and around the ear. It is a natural decongestant and anti-infectious. She wasn’t sure if it would help, but that was her suggestion. But, I soon realized that I didn’t have eucalyptus essential oil on hand…
Of course!! All of the essential oils that are in the allergy relief roll-on I sell at the Farmer’s Market are anti bacterial, and the lemon and peppermint are sure to be anti-infectious and decongestants as well. I decided to try this because I didn’t have eucalyptus on hand. t began using the roll on several times that day and the next. After just 1 day the stabbing sensations in my ear were gone and at the 3rd day it was no longer tender or swollen around the gland under my ear! I think I caught it early enough that this worked wonders for me.
Just one more testimony that essential oils heal! Needless to say, I’m more than thrilled!
